Gabby Nind is a British oil painter based in south-west England. Her colourful still lifes and landscapes explore joy, nostalgia and the relationship between light and memory.

Gabby’s paintings explore how memories can become amplified versions of lived experience; colours seem brighter, light warmer, and small details take on greater significance. Her paintings play with this romanticised version of the past, finding beauty and joy in ordinary objects and scenes.

“The way ordinary moments become extraordinary in your memory fascinates me. I think back to childhood and how something as simple as breakfast at a sunny table can feel like a magical experience in my memory, and I want to capture that in my paintings.

Food has always captivated me. I spent years working as a chef, so it feels natural that much of my work now centres around food. When you look at my paintings, I want you to feel as though you're remembering a moment you lived yourself.”
